Mantis World has been making high quality, responsibly produced garments that are designed for decoration since the company was founded in 2000 by Prama Bhardwaj, who is still our CEO and the driving force behind all we do. Our aims today are still the same as they always have been - to make “Well Made” garments: using premium, soft fabrics and great designs while taking care of everyone involved in the supply chain and to be respectful to the planet around us.

Over the last 20 years from our base in London, we’ve grown, learned, developed and evolved but our core values remain the same.

We were the first adopters of organic cotton in our industry back in 2005 and have been increasing its use ever since. We realised the overwhelming negative consequences of conventional cotton and made a pledge to switch 100% to more sustainable fibres by 2021. We are delighted that we achieved that goal ahead of our targets and that all the cotton we use in the production of every one of our garments has been organic since 2019.  We were also one of the first in our industry to introduce recycled polyester to our range and almost all our polyester is now recycled.

Collaborative effort has helped us immensely on our journey, and we are thankful to be part of many initiatives and organisations working towards improving our impact.

We make bold changes, hoping to inspire others in our industry, yet we remain committed to a more gentle way of doing business. We remain an independent brand which allows us to fully embrace the triple bottom line: People, Planet, Profitability. This gives us freedom to sometimes accept lower financial rewards knowing the planet and society will reap the dividends.

We do not believe “Purpose” is something to be used as a marketing tool, or that sustainable choices should cover just a sub-range of our range. It is at the heart of absolutely everything we do
