DTG PRINTING GUIDE

Mantis World have always had strong connections to decorators in the promotional industry concerning printing onto our garment styles. Over the past two years, we have been working in collaboration with Kornit Digital to ensure that as much of our range as possible can produce the finished results demanded by you and your customers.

We have a fabric testing protocol that covers all the necessary basic requirements of a garment during the creation and development of new styles which is an ongoing programme from which both sides benefit. This ensures that Mantis World garments can be reliably used to showcase excellence to your customers.

Naturally, there can be complications as this is not an exact science and it never will be. All brands in our industry face exactly the same issues and challenges.

It’s important to remember:

  • Some colours and fabric types will always print more successfully than others
  • The environment in which the garment and the print machinery are working can make a difference

We would always recommend running test prints, and experimenting with different dryer tunnel temperatures to achieve the perfect results. Whilst our own findings show that drying a full colour digital print at 160° for ten minutes yields the best result, we also appreciate that different DTG machines, inks and dryer tunnels will require further testing.

Our customer service team and our technical staff will always do their best to try and explain if a less than perfect result has been produced. It is, of course, helpful in these instances to see the physical outcome first hand, and also for our team understand how the garment was treated, printed and dried. It should however be understood from the outset that any combination between high tech digital machinery and the natural properties of cotton will not be perfect 100% of the time, as with all other forms of decoration.

In the meantime, we will continue to strive to ensure that our fabrics and garments are developed to ensure as much as possible that they are fit for purpose.

Please feel free to contact us if you have concerns, comments or feedback, so that together we can work to find the best solutions and garments to ensure the confidence of the customers and brands we all serve.

Thank you,

Team Mantis World.
